In January of 1992 when Country Futures, Inc. was formed, on the surface, it appeared there was going to be a "New kid on the block" in the commodity futures brokerage business. The only thing new about Country Futures, Inc., however was its name. In fact, most of the people who make up Country Futures have been around for quite some time and are very familiar to most farmers, ranchers, lenders and investors throughout the entire Midwest. I decided to form Country Futures after having been employed for almost 12 years by another commodity firm as a registered futures broker. A long held dream came true when Country Futures was formed. I now had my own Introducing Brokers Business.
The steps leading up to the start of CFI, like any other new business, depended not only upon my own decisions, but also the decisions of others. To enhance the chance of success for not only my new business, but customers as well, I know I had to bring experience and tradition immediately into Country Futures. There were two people who had worked by my side for most of those 12 previous years, who made the decision to keep the staff together and move with me on my new journey. Their dedication to not only myself but to the longtime customers who decided to follow us will never be forgotten. You'll find out that our people do make the difference.
